The recurring review problem
Laboratory teams often receive spectral exports repeatedly. The difficult part is not only calculating a difference. The team must know which scans formed the reference, what arrived later, which settings shaped the view, what recorded conditions might matter, and what response followed.
Reference first
A reference defines the comparison question. It should represent the intended material or process conditions and preserve its included scans, measurement meaning, settings, and exclusions. A larger archive is not automatically a more suitable reference.
Workflow
- 01
Import
Preview how supported files are read before using them.
- 02
Define a reference
Declare which scans represent the comparison question.
- 03
Monitor arrivals
Review new scans from saved data or a watched folder.
- 04
Explore differences
Inspect PCA, spectra, and recorded context to frame the next review question.
- 05
Record a response
Keep notes, conclusions, actions, and revisions with the evidence.
- 06
Report over time
Export decision-first evidence and compare compatible saved results.
Scientific boundaries
A multivariate pattern can show association and structure. It does not by itself identify cause, establish calibration accuracy, or certify quality.
Application in Drift Watcher
The application links import, comparison setup, arrival review, interactive evidence, investigations, actions, and reports in a local desktop workspace.
